Why music for babies?
Photographs by Neil Denham
Research shows that music is beneficial to babies and young children. Babies are born with their hearing fully developed, and once your baby has settled into enough of a pattern of sleep and feeds that you can attend a music class, you'll be stimulating their brains and enabling more neural pathways to develop by taking them to one.
Find a class that you enjoy, because your baby will enjoy it more if you do too! Similarly, if you're sending your baby with a nanny, make sure your nanny enjoys the ambience of the class and feels able to join in and have fun: your baby will benefit.
