Learn piano from 3½ years old
Photographs by Neil Denham
Reading, writing, singing, listening and spatial awareness are all part of Bea's piano lessons for young children. Beginners of all ages are welcome, especially 3½ - 6 years and the lessons are excellent preparation for school, in particular for Pre Maths.
Toddlers given regular piano lessons may have a head start in developing the reasoning used in maths and science, according to a neurological experiment in California. Three and four year-olds who learnt Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and other simple tunes over six months performed 34% better in IQ tests than those who had computer lessons or no lessons, scientists from the University of Wisconsin found."

Drawing from a wide variety of teaching material and her 17 years' experience, Bea uses games, percussion instruments and puppetry to help children find their way across the keyboard, learn pitch recognition and singing and how to read and write music in treble and base clef. Bea coaches children through ABRSM grade exams if desired.
